Managers; The Art of Politics
A man is flying in a hot air balloon and realizes he is lost. He reduces height and spots a man down below. He lowers the balloon further and shouts: "Excuse me, can you help me? I promised my friend I would meet him half an hour ago, but I don't know where I am."
The man below says: "Yes. You are in a hot air balloon, hovering approximately 30 feet above this field. You are between 40 and 42 degrees N. latitude, and between 58 and 60 degrees W. longitude."
"You must be an engineer," says the balloonist.
"I am," replies the man. "How did you know?"
"Well," says the balloonist, "everything you have told me is technically correct, but I have no idea what to make of your information, and the fact is I am still lost.
"The man below says, "You must be a manager."
"I am," replies the balloonist, "but how did you know?"
"Well," says the man, "you don't know where you are, or where you are going. You have made a promise which you have no idea how to keep, and you expect me to solve your problem. The fact is you are in the exact same position you were in before we met, but now it is somehow my fault."

Today was my first day at VMware vSphere training. It was an interesting day. The instructor was pretty funny, which can be an awesome thing for a highly technical and potentially dry course.  Now it’s time to clean out the inbox and go over some of the material from the class I wanted to research more. And finally more awesome math hmwk.  It’s going to be a long week, for sure.

What I HATE about Boxcar
My only complaint against Boxcar is that FB notifications are slower than a snail and you get the notification at random times on all your devices.  For example: my computer gets the FB notification (mind you 15 minutes after it actually happened),  then my iPhone gets it 5 minutes later and finally my iPad 10 minutes after the first notification on the computer. (All on same network) Would...

When I go back and look at some of my code and see something like this: cleanRevString = String.valueOf(Round(Float.parseFloat(DVdirtyRevenue), 2));

Math C030
I got the start date mixed up on my 8 week math course and so I started a week behind. It’s an entire semester class crammed into 8 weeks. The class is suppose to take 20 hours a week which is crazy when you work 40+ hours a week and want time to yourself on the weekend. Been trying to catch up be so far all attempts have just kept me exactly one week behind. Maybe tomorrow if I work all...

Market Today
Well it looks like we’re going in the right direction to come out of the slow patch we have had since May! If tomorrow they report better than expected job numbers we could break through resistance.   DJIA: 11555   -  Support - the 03/16/11 low 12876   -  Resistance - the 05/02/11 high 12372   -  50-day simple moving average 11810   -  200-day moving average S&P 500: ...
